Chlorine is a sanitiser necessary to kill bacteria in your hot tub water and help in the prevention of algae growth. The chlorine levels should be checked regularly using Test Strips, which will let you know if there is too much or little chlorine in your hot tub. Use them 3-5 times a week to keep the chlorine at the correct level.

Why use Chlorine in your hot tub?

• Chlorine is available in granule form which is rapid dissolving
• Stabilised Chlorine Granules - also known as Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate granules
• Stabilised Chlorine - also known as Trichloro isocyanuric acid
• It has little effect on the pH levels
• The ideal Chlorine level is between 3 - 5mg/l
• In order to stop chlorine being broken down by sunlight it is combined with a stabiliser
